Statement of Intent
Statement of Intent
My print advert for "Your Food" will focus on creating representations of variation and relaxation along with appealing to the first stage of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, physiological, mainly the need to eat. I will need to take photos of food to appeal to the physiological need. The food should be varied, a high amount and should look good. The mise en scene should be a calming colour to give connotations and representations of relaxation. I intend to mainly use the mode of still image through a picture of food that will apply to the physiological need of the audience. This picture will show some variations of different types of food people could get from the delivery service. The food will need to look good and be of high amounts in order to appeal to the physiological need to eat as much as possible. The different types of food will need to be varied to show the variation that "Your Food" has and the background will be a calming peaceful colour to show that eating from "Your Food" is a relaxing and peaceful experience. This is what i intend to do for my print advert for the delivery service of "Your Food".
Food Delivery Service Ads Analysis

Just Eat
This just eat advert is advertised at an audience that want to explore new tastes and flavours. I know this as the media text used at the bottom of the still image has specifically used the verb "find" in order to target the service at those who want to discover new flavours and tastes. This add applies to the first stage of Maslow's needs triangle, physiological. The mise en scene shows multiple varied pieces of food in order to appeal to the physiological needs of people who may see the ad.
There has also been a heavy use of bright and varied colours. This brings representations and connotations of not only fun but also variation.
Deliveroo
This advert taps into the physiological need of its audience. The ads show food overflowing and a large amount of food all in one. If someone was hungry and saw this ad they would most likely become even more hungry and want to use the delivery food service to get themselves something to eat.
The use of the colour bright blue also give connotations of calmness and peace suggesting that eating from Deliveroo is a calming and peaceful experience.
The food in the ad takes up most of the mise en scene whereas the text and branding is kept small in order to focus on the physiological need of the audience that see the adverts.
Hungry House
This hungry house ad also is aimed at the first stage of Maslow's needs, physiological. It shows multiple different dishes of food spread around a table.
The mise en scene has multiple different foods and so like the just eat advert is very varied in order to represent the variation in the hugry house delivery service. We can also see an XBOX 360 controller in the mise en sence. This is there to have connotations and representations of relaxation.
Conclusion
A common thing between all of these ads is that they have connotations of representation and variation. They also all apply to Maslow's first stage of needs, physiological.
