More Magazine Analysis

More Magazine Analysis

Colour scheme of gold, white and brown.

Other bands mentioned down right hand side of the cover. May give more of an incentive to read.

Not much free space on the page.

Page mostly filled with words rather than pictures. Looks less messy despite being somewhat cluttered.

Includes a CD, gives more reason to be bought.

Costume contrasts with the background and the guitar he is holding.

Guitar prop used to show musician is serious, this is furthered by his facial expression.

Red stamps stand out as they are not a part of the colour scheme.

Magazine Analysis

Magazine Analysis

Film

Focuses majorly on one film, this being 'Tomb Raider'. Does this by having big bold text centered in the middle of the magazine with the name of the movie and by having the lead actress of the film also in the center of the magazine.

Colour scheme of white and orange, contrasting colours, stands out.

A reason to read, "58 MUST-SEE 2018 MOVIES".

Capitalised and bold text gives off a sense of urgency, creates a 'must-read' affect.

Top right corner shows characters from other films, such as Black Panther. This may catch the attention of someone who is not interested in Tomb Raider but is in other movies.

Costume has been specifically chosen to create a sense of intrigue. It also resembles the costume from the video game so it may interest any fans of the Tomb Raider video game series.

Dramatic language heavily used, "WORLD EXCLUSIVE", "REBIRTH OF AN ICON", "MASSIVE" once again creates a sense of urgency and  suggests that the film will be heavily dramatic itself.

Mise en scene is quite mysterious. A cloudy background that does not reveal much creates intrigue and a sense of mystery.

Celebrity

Lots of smaller stories down the right hand side.

White shiny colour scheme which creates a sense of high class, somewhat ruined by the other stories on the right hand side.

One major focus, being Taylor Swift. Centered on the magazine and takes up a large amount of space. Strong bold text of her name in the bottom left corner.

"40th Anniversary double issue" makes magazine feel special to reader. "double issue" so it must be better.

Costume, in a white outfit, white usually connotated with being innocent or pure.

Mise en scene is quite simplistic but bright. Forces all focus onto Taylor Swift.
